Steve Connally

Steve’s practical experience is paired with his participation in industry groups and professional organizations. Steve is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Society of Arborculture and a member of the Chapter Safety Committee. Steve has volunteered his time and skill as one of the few individuals in our area to provide aerial rescue services for pet owners via PETA and the International Cat In A Tree Rescue Group. Steve is the research team climber for The Center for Conservation Biology and The College of William and Mary, National Park Service Bald Eagle Restoration Program. Working along side Wildlife Biologists, Steve climbs and retrieves eaglets from their nests for research and tagging.

Steve is also a career firefighter Captain and Paramedic with a local fire department. A former member of the Hampton Roads Technical Rescue Team and the Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team, he has provided specific training to area fire departments on rescue techniques related to tree work and job site accidents. He brings a safety oriented approach to all job sites and has qualifications and training unique to Tree Care in Hampton Roads. Steve has presented as a safety trainer at many trade shows including TCIA Expo Baltimore, MAC-ISA annual meeting and day of safety.

Steve prides himself on staying in tune with the changes in the tree care industry. He has attended numerous training events on Safety, technical rope work/climbing, and the science of Arboriculture. Steve can be found climbing on the newest device, using the latest methods, and providing the most up to date techniques in tree care. Originally from New Jersey, Steve served in the Navy for 8 years and remained in Virginia after his honorable discharge in 1994. Having served at sea and ashore in Virginia, he decided to make Hampton Roads his home. Steve’s passion shows with his attention to detail, skill, and professional approach to tree work.
